The Great Get Together

This was an extra special Thursday Tea when we joined in a national initiative called the ‘Great Get Together’ that brings communities together over a shared meal (sound familiar?).

This year it was held to commemorate Jo Cox MP who was murdered one year ago at her constituency surgery in Yorkshire.

As our guest of honour we were hugely pleased to welcome the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Toni Letts, and the children’s choir and teachers from New Valley School.

We also had our best ever turnout, with around 150 people sitting down to a smorgasbord of international cuisine. Big thanks to all you chefs, and a special call-out to our friends at Rice N Spice and the Mekan restaurant in Purley!
