Hall Hire: Terms & Conditions

  1. The agreed fee for the use of the accommodation for a private event must be paid in advance of the hiring, plus a returnable deposit. Other rates and terms apply for non-private/commercial events and regular bookings. Please contact for further details.
  2. The user is responsible for all damage to the accommodation or any of the church’s fixtures and fittings or equipment which is occasioned in whatever way by the usage of the accommodation.
  3. The accommodation may only be used by the organisation / individual and for the purpose indicated on the application form submitted to Old Lodge Lane Baptist Church. If, during the period of a regular lease, the activities change or increase, permission must be sought from the Church.
  4. After use, the accommodation must be left in a clean and tidy condition with all furniture and equipment returned to the same position as at the commencement of the hiring. The toilets should be checked that they are in a good condition and any rubbish removed from the premises. The user must ensure that all lights are turned off and all doors and windows are properly secured.
  5. The user must ensure that during the use of the accommodation no person smokes on the church premises and that no alcohol or intoxicating substances are supplied or consumed.
  6. The user undertakes to ensure that any activity does not conflict with the strongly held beliefs of the Church.
  7. The user must not leave in the accommodation any equipment, furniture or articles of any kind unless by prior written agreement from the Church, who reserve the right to charge a separate fee for the provision of any such specified storage facilities.
  8. The user agrees that the Church accepts no responsibility for any injury or loss to person or property arising out if use of the accommodation, apart from the Church’s responsibility for the general maintenance of the accommodation. The user will keep the Church indemnified against any claims for which the Church is not responsible.
  9. The user has the responsibility to notify the Church of any defect in the accommodation or in any of the Church’s furniture or other equipment in the accommodation.
  10. The user will comply with the Church’s Health & Safety policy and will ensure that all those using the accommodation are aware of the appropriate safety procedures.
  11. Where premises are used by children, the user agrees to comply with the Government guidelines set out in the document Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  12. If a key or set of keys is given to the organisation for the purposes of entry or exit to the building, the user agrees that the key(s) will be stored and returned safely. The user accepts responsibility for any damage or loss sustained due to loss or misuse of the key by the user.
